About the AMH-B80 Bolt Straightening Machine
The AMH-B80 is an automatic bolt straightening machine built as an integrated device combining servo, pneumatic and PLC technology to achieve rapid, repeatable straightening. Its working envelope covers bolt and rod workpieces from 3 mm to 25 mm in diameter and from 60 mm to 600 mm in length — a range that spans precision screws, standard bolts and small-diameter bar stock on one platform. For shops producing fasteners, shaft blanks and turned components, the machine removes the bend that forming, heat treatment and bulk handling leave behind, so parts enter threading, grinding or assembly operations in a controlled geometric state.
Why Bolts and Screw Stock Need Straightening
Bent fasteners are a normal by-product of the manufacturing chain, not a sign of poor workmanship. Cold and hot forming sets internal stresses into the shank; thread rolling adds asymmetric deformation; heat treatment releases stresses unevenly as parts cool; and bulk transfer in hoppers and bins adds fresh bows to long, slender parts. The consequences appear downstream: vibration and chatter in machining, jammed feed rails in automated assembly, rejected parts at final inspection.
Straightening restores the geometry by working with the material instead of against it. The straightener detects deviation at defined positions along the part, applies a controlled corrective force that relieves the internal stress driving the bend, and verifies the result — bending the part back into true alignment so the corrected shape stays stable through later operations.
The Measure – Straighten – Verify Workflow
In a typical AMH-B80 configuration, workpieces flow through a loading unit, a manipulator that presents each part, the straightener itself, a straightness checking unit and a lifting unit for finished parts. The straightness checking unit is the decisive quality element: every part is measured after correction, so out-of-tolerance parts are detected immediately rather than escaping to your customer. Each measurement closes the loop back to the correction parameters, keeping results stable as material batches and incoming conditions vary through the day.
The machine can also be configured with automatic loading and unloading units, so the straightening cell runs with minimal operator attention alongside your other processes.
Suitable Workpieces
- Bolt diameter: 3 mm to 25 mm
- Bolt length: 60 mm to 600 mm
- Workpiece types: bolts and screw stock, with or without thread, and small-diameter round bar blanks
- Reference application: bolt rods of 16 mm diameter and 200 mm length, straightened without thread, in a cell consisting of loading unit, manipulator, straightener, straightness checking unit and lifting unit
Whether your parts are threaded or plain, the defining parameters are diameter, length and straightness tolerance — send the drawing and target tolerance for confirmation of the exact configuration.
Selecting the Right Bolt Straightening Machine
Four inputs decide the correct machine configuration:
- Diameter range. The correction force, tooling and clamping are sized to the diameter window. Parts across the 3–25 mm range are covered; mixed families within the range are usually handled with changeover.
- Length and handling. Length drives the manipulator and support design. From 60 mm screws to 600 mm rods, the handling concept adapts to keep slender parts controlled during measurement and correction.
- Thread condition. Threaded parts need tooling that avoids damaging the flank surface; plain stock permits simpler tooling. State the thread condition when specifying.
- Straightness specification and automation level. The tolerance you must hold defines whether the straightness checking unit is a necessity, and your throughput defines whether automatic loading and unloading pay back. Both options are engineered to order.

CE Standard, Automation and Remote Support
Like every machine in this series, the AMH-B80 can be engineered to CE standard and to higher automation levels including remote diagnosis and workshop automation. Remote diagnosis lets our engineers inspect machine status and support commissioning over the network, and workshop automation interfaces connect the straightening cell with your production systems for a coordinated, unattended line.
FAQ
What bolt sizes does the AMH-B80 handle?
Bolts and rod workpieces from 3 mm to 25 mm in diameter, 60 mm to 600 mm in length.
Can it straighten parts without threads?
Yes. One reference application straightens 16 mm × 200 mm bolt rods without thread. Threaded and plain workpieces are both within scope — specify the thread condition with your inquiry.
Is straightness verified on the machine?
A straightness checking unit can be integrated in the cell, measuring every part after correction. We design the auto loading, auto unloading and straightness checking units according to your requirements.
Can the machine meet CE requirements?
Yes, the machine can be supplied to CE standard, and with higher automation levels such as remote diagnosis and workshop automation.
How do I confirm the machine fits my parts?
Send the workpiece drawing, material, current straightness deviation and the tolerance you need to hold. We confirm the configuration and expected result before you order.
